Bread... is life
Like most, I would prefer not deal with the cold weather - unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Luckily, our pantry is always stocked with the staple ingredients to make any and everything that is bakeable.
I was also in mood for a homemade something other than delivery.
So this is a very quick recipe for those with 1 hr to spare.
If you prefer, you may knead the dough, by hand, on your counter dusted with flour - however I used my Kitchenaid Mixer for the entire process- Easy clean up

Ingredients (tweaked to a textured dough I preferred)
2 Cups flour (I used brown flour)
1 1/2 tablespoons yeast
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon oil
2 1/2 cups of hot water (not boiling)
Rule of thumb:
Mix dry ingredients first then add liquids
*As i type, I am beginning to smell the amazing aroma of the fresh hot bread in the oven mmmmmmm* 😋😋
Okay back to the directions.
I added the extra 1/2 cup of water as my dough was a bit dry - could be because I used grained brown flour ; your dough should be a bit sticky.
Do not over knead your dough.
Once you have kneaded the dough, roll it out into your desired shapes : rolls, loaves, letter shaped.
Whatever puts a smile on your face.
Either grease pan with butter or oil OR line with Parchment paper.
Cover the rolled dough with a clean towel for approx 20-25 min- allowing it to rise
- Preheat oven at 350⁰
- Bake for 30 mins. Bake for a longer period, if you prefer a crispier loaf.
- Cool on a wire rack.
Take in the mouth watering aroma.
Slice and slather with butter!
